Police Beat: Two arrested for robbing teen, 16

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man yesterday as suspects in a robbery reported by a 16-year-old boy.

The boy told police the two approached him about 2:50 p.m. in the parking lot of a business fronting Kapiolani Boulevard and demanded money.

After taking his money and personal effects, the two robbers ran away, the boy told police.

Police were called to the scene, located the suspects and arrested them on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Cousin arrested for series of alleged sexual assaults against girl, 12

A 21-year-old Waipahu man was arrested yesterday in connection with a series of alleged sexual assaults that a 12 year-old girl said took place between August 2005 and March of this year.

Police said the suspect and the girl are cousins and that they reside in the same household.

The man was arrested on suspicion of three counts, and one count of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Woman says she was robbed at gunpoint in parking lot

Police are investigating a report filed on behalf of a 38-year-old woman who said she was robbed at gunpoint yesterday in a Honolulu parking lot.

Police were told that the woman was getting out of her car when two men approached her and one of them, who appeared to be in his early 30s, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

Police said the incident happened about 1:15 p.m.
