Akina helps on Big Island

Duane Akina, associate head coach of Texas' NCAA championship football team, will be the featured instructor at football camps on the Big Island this weekend.

UH assistant coaches Mel deLaura, Jeff Reinebold, George Lumpkin and Rich Miano also will be camp instructors.

There is no admission charge for the camps.

The camps will be held Saturday at Kea'au High School and Sunday at Konawaena High School.

Saturday's sessions are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for ages 9 to 13, and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for ages 14 and older. Sunday's sessions are 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 9 to 13, and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for ages 14 and older.

An incorrect schedule was printed in yesterday's Advertiser.
