News editors workshop Aug. 9-10 at UH-Manoa

Online journalism, mining public records and nontraditional story forms are among the topics that will be addressed at a frontline-editors workshop Aug. 9 and 10 at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.

Some of the editors leading "NewsTrain" are Michael Roberts, deputy managing editor of The Arizona Republic; Edward Miller, managing director of the Newsroom Leadership Group; Nora Paul, director of the Institute for New Media Studies at the University of Minnesota; and Walter Dean, broadcast training coordinator, Committee of Concerned Journalists.

Registration for the workshops costs $35.

The $35 fee allows access to any or all of the workshops, which will be held at the UH School of Architecture, 2410 Campus Road.
