Hawai'i Island police today released the identity of a 41-year-old Puna man believed be the driver in what police describe as a "road rage" incident that left two women dead early Sunday.

The man, identified by police as Vernon Costa, is believed to have been the driver of a Dodge pickup truck found at the scene of the crash, along Highway 190 near Pu'uanahulu.

Two victims killed in the incident were identified today as Pua Lei Santa-Isabel, 26, and Casey Ann Swain, 35, both of Hilo.

A passing motorist took a third victim to the North Hawai'i Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.
