Police Beat: Drugs found on suspected kidnapper

Police arrested a man yesterday on suspicion of assault, carrying drugs, and kidnapping during the investigation of a disturbance call at Varsity Circle in Honolulu.

A 33-year-old woman told police the man, 37, was her ex-boyfriend and he had choked her during an argument the day before. He returned yesterday, causing another disturbance, she said.

Police reported finding drugs in his pants pocket during a search at the receiving desk.

Victims robbed at gunpoint in Kapolei convenience store parking lot

Police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed several people at gunpoint last night in a convenience store parking lot in Kapolei.

The victims told police the two men walked up to a car they were sitting in and demanded their wallets. They said one of the men pulled a handgun and repeated the demand, at which point the victims complied.

Police were told that the man who pulled the gun was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans while the second man was wearing a grey tank top and blue jeans.

The two men are in their early 20s, police believe. One is bald with a heavy build, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, weighing 170 to 180 pounds. The second male wore a mustache, has a medium build, is 5-foot-6 and weighs160 to 170 pounds, police said.

License plate check on slow-moving car leads to arrest

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy in 'Ewa Beach yesterday on suspicion of operating a stolen vehicle.

Just after 1 a.m., police spotted the boy driving slowly, arousing suspicion, police said. The police ran a license plate check and found it did not match the vehicle. They pulled the car over, checked the vehicle identification number, and found the car was stolen.
