STAGE/SCREEN

O'ahu Arts Center auditions for the Oct. 14 performance of the musical, "The Wizard of Oz," 6:30 p.m. Friday or 1:30 p.m. Saturday, FilCom Center, Waipahu. Auditioners of all ages (those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and ethnicities should prepare 16-24 bars of a song from a Broadway show, bring sheet music in your key, resume and headshot, and dress in proper clothing for the dance audition. 'Ohi'a Productions is accepting applications for the stage and parade production "The Christmas Gift of Aloha" to be performed on Ala Moana Center Stage at 6 p.m. nightly except Mondays, Nov. 24-Dec. 23. Looking for adult (14 and over) actors, singers, dancers, and Santa role, as well as three child (8-13) singers/dancers. Must be available for all meetings, fittings and rehearsals, 6:30-10:30 p.m. Oct. 9-Nov. 22, to be held at Windward Community College and after hours at Ala Moana Center. The Hawaii Repertory Theatre auditions for the Oct. 13-22 production of Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing," 6:30-10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 2-5 p.m. Aug. 5 (callbacks 7 p.m. Aug. 8), Kawananakoa Middle School auditorium. Roles include two adult males; two adult women, two young men and one young woman; auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. 428-4948.

Paliku Theatre auditions for the Oct. 13-Nov. 12 production of the musical "Oklahoma!," 7 p.m. Aug. 7-9, on the campus of Windward Community College. Auditioners, who must be at least age 16 for the adult roles, will sing a memorized song (bring the sheet music for the provided accompanist; no karaoke or a capella) and audition for movement work and reading from the script. 235-7330.

MUSIC/DANCE

Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus auditions for boys and girls (grades K-12) to participate in the training. performance and touring opportunities in their choral ensembles, Aug. 19 and 26, UH-Manoa Music Department. Audition fees of $5 for grades K-2 and $25 for grades 3-12 will be applied, once accepted into the chorus, to the semester tuition of $130 for K-2 and $250 for grades 3-12. 2007 Miss Chinatown Hawaii seeks contestants of Chinese ancestry, ages 18-26, for the 28th annual pageant to be held in November at the Hawai'i Theatre. Women must be single, never married, with no children and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Hawai'i. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce seeks contestants, ages 19-26, for the 2007 Narcissus Queen Pageant to be held Jan. 20. Contestants, who must be at least one half Chinese, a Hawai'i resident, never married, with no children, will compete in interview, talent, evening gown and on-stage speech segments. 55th Cherry Blossom Festival of Honolulu seeks applications for Cherry Blossom Queen from women, 19-26, who are of at least one half Japanese ancestry, a U.S. citizen and Hawai'i resident. 2007 Miss East Oahu and Miss Kahala seeks contestants, ages 17-24, for the Sept. 23 pageant to be held at Windward Community College.
