ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Spare some change today for donation-drive collectors

Advertiser Staff

Who are all those folks out there in T-shirts, red hats and nets, spreading what looks to be Christmas cheer? That would be volunteers for the River of Life Mission's second annual Christmas in July donation drive. They can be spotted from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at more than 30 busy intersections throughout the island. For more information about River of Life Mission and its efforts to help the homeless, contact Davi Teves at 524-7656, ext. 222.

MALE BOSSES WIN OVER BOTH GENDERS IN SURVEY

So maybe the devil really does wear Prada. At least in the workplace. According to the first-ever Gender Issues in the Workplace Survey by career publisher Vault Inc., women prefer to work for men rather than for other women. Men, too, preferred male bosses over female ones. According to the survey, most men (73 percent) and women (62 percent) work for a male boss.

FINAL WORD

"I see parents pushing kids in strollers, dressed like their children. The dads have Elmo on their T-shirt, and I think, What a nightmare!"
