Komine called up to start for Athletics

"I'm excited, nervous, anxious," Komine said in a telephone interview Wednesday from Albuquerque, N.M., where his team, the Sacramento River Cats, are playing. "This is what you dream about. I'm finally getting a shot."
He was told of the news by his manager Tony DeFrancesco earlier Wednesday. Komine, a 1998 graduate of Kalani, is 9-7 with a 3.89 earned run average for the River Cats, the Triple A affiliate of the Athletics.
