Building, grounds renamed in former mayor's honor

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Municipal Building and the Civic Center Grounds were renamed this morning in honor of former mayor Frank F. Fasi.

"His legacy continues to live on," mayor Mufi Hannemann said as he and Fasi unveiled new signs introducing the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center and Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building.

Fasi, the longest-serving mayor in Honolulu history, was honored for his numerous city improvements during 22 years as mayor, including the implemention of TheBus, Satellite City Halls, and Honolulu City Lights.
