UH picked to finish 2nd in WAC soccer

The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Western Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.The Rainbow Wahine, the 2005 regular-season champions, received 42 points and two votes for first place.
Fresno State was picked to finish first with 46 points and five first-place votes. San Jose was picked third (34 points), followed by Nevada (31), Utah State (29), Boise State (20), Idaho (14) and Louisiana Tech (8).
The Rainbow Wahine return seven starters, including first-team all-WAC selections Jessica Domingo and Koren Takeyama. Second-team picks Kori Lu (goalkeeper) and Krisha Kai (forward) also return.
The program will be without three-time WAC Player of the Year Natasha Kai, who completed her eligibility and is playing with the U.S. Women's National Team.
UH begins the season on August 25 at 7 p.m. against Washington in the OHANA Hotels & Resorts No Ka Oi.
