TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"One Ocean View" debut, 9 p.m., ABC. Here's "Real World" or "Laguna Beach" for grown-ups. We see a bunch of New York City professionals, looking for love and-or sex at a summer retreat on Fire Island. Some of this is contrived. The show pretends people got this idea on their own. (Actually, they auditioned.) And no viewer will believe it when one man rolls his suitcase across the island while wearing a suit and tie. Once we forgive that, however, this is a genial hour with attractive, likable people. You'll warm up instantly to Miki and Radha Agrawal, 27-year-old twins with family roots in India and Japan. Former soccer stars, they own pizza restaurants. You'll like the easygoing John Healy, 24, a Wall Street broker. You'll feel for Zack (the show skips last names), 22, who is in the house with his first love, Lauren, 23; she just wants to be friends. Then there's Lisa, 28, who worked as an exotic dancer to put herself through grad school. K.J., 26, has health-club franchises. Mary, 24, markets designer handbags. Anelka, 23, left rural Pennsylvania and became a Manhattan account executive. Heather, 27, is a sales account representative. Then there's Usman, 27, the suit-and-tie guy. He's a lawyer who opens a phone conversation with: "I'm the good-looking guy you met at the club tonight." He does not seem to have a self-esteem shortage.

OF NOTE

"Tabloid Wars," 6 p.m., Bravo. In last week's opener to this interesting reality show we met Kerry Burke, a hard-working reporter who does things the old-fashioned way — walking the neighborhood and asking questions. Tonight, he and another reporter follow a case of someone who reportedly shot two cops then leaped off a high-rise. The staff is also upset by the news of a New York cop who was killed in Iraq. On a lighter note, columnist Lenore Skenazy is seeking a New Yorker sometimes seen walking his turtle.

"The Closer," 6 p.m., TNT. The bodies of a mother and daughter, bound together, have been found.

"Hell's Kitchen," 7 and 8 p.m., Fox. First is a rerun, trimming the field to four. Then those four prepare a dinner service and one more is ousted.

"Star Tomorrow Casting Special," 7 p.m., NBC. The "Star Tomorrow" competition will be mainly on nbc.com. To launch it, however, here's a broadcast special. The casting was open to singers, bands or groups.

"Saved," 7 p.m., TNT. A gang member has been wounded but the gang leader won't let him be taken to the hospital.

"Kyle XY," 8 p.m., ABC Family. Kyle's having nightmares compounded by the fact that he can't remember who he is or where he's from.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m., CBS. Alan's too-young girlfriend doesn't have money; soon, he's helping her out.

"Falcon Beach," 9 p.m., ABC Family. The dance hall is ready to open with Erin's favorite band performing.
