Find family fun at ocean festival in Kapi'olani Park today

Manu Boyd's Halau O Ke 'A'ali'i Ku Makani are among performers today at the "Care for the Ocean" festival at Kapi'olani Park.

"E Malama I Ke Kai (Care for the Ocean)," the annual ocean awareness festival, takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Kapi'olani Park and features top Island entertainers in a free concert.

Among the performers: Kapena, Aaron Sala, 'Anelaikalani, Maunalua, Pride Rhythm and Halau O Ke 'A'ali'i Ku Makani (kumu hula Manu Boyd) and Na Pualei o Likolehua (kumu Leina'ala Kalama Heine). Add to that ocean exhibits, inflatables for the kids, games and food booths.

The festival benefits the nonprofit Hawaiian-language immersion program, Punana Leo o Kawaiaha'o. Admission is free. 536-7999.
