Police located the car and arrested the driver for first-degree criminal property damage and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Arrests in alleged gunpoint robbery

Police arrested two men and are looking for a third in connection with an alleged gunpoint robbery early yesterday morning Kalihi.

The two men, ages 34 and 36, told police they had arranged to meet with a man at about 1 a.m. to buy an iPod audio player from him.

The two men were meeting with the man who offered to sell the iPod when two other men approached them from behind, pulled out handguns and demanded the wallets from the would-be buyers. The two men said they handed over wallets and were then punched by the gunmen.

One of the gunmen then reportedly got into a car with the man who had offered to sell the iPod while the other gunman got into a second car. Both cars then drove off, police said.

The two men who claimed they were robbed called police on a cell phone as they pursued the car containing two of the men

They eventually lost the car but police caught up with it a few minutes later and arrested the two men on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
