Light showers possible this morning

Kaua'i and O'ahu could see a few very light showers this morning, but for the most part, the weather for the rest of the work week will be warm and sunny, according to the National Weather Service.

The showers are the result of a band of scattered clouds that came at the end of an out-of-season frontal system that moved close to the islands over the past several days, forecasters said.

Winds are expected to be lighter than usual through Friday with daytime sea breezes and nighttime land breezes helping to cool things down a bit.

Day-by-day forecasts are as follows:

  • Today, mostly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs 79 to 86. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

  • Tonight, mostly clear. Lows 66 to 72. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

  • Tomorrow, mostly sunny. Highs 79 to 85. East winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon.

  • Tomorrow night mostly clear. Lows 66 to 71. South winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

  • Thursday, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 85. Light winds. Chance of rain 20 percent.

  • Thursday night, mostly clear. Lows 66 to 72. Light winds
