Waimalu on-ramp crash slows H-1 traffic

By David Waite
Advertiser Staff Writer

A collision on the Waimalu on-ramp leading to to the eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway is slowing the morning drive for commuters headed in from Central and West O'ahu.

It was mostly clear sailing up to the point the crash occurred about 6:50 a.m.

One other collision was reported to police in the past hour, that being on Dillingham Boulevard in front of the driver's license testing office.

Traffic is heavy but flowing well at the usual problem areas, including the H-1/H-2 merge and the Middle Street merge.

Coming in from East O'ahu, traffic on the Lunalilo Freeway slows considerably at the Old Wai'alae Road overpass.
