Expect another hot, sunny day

Two words best describe the weather forecast for the rest of the work week: sunny and hot.

A weather system north of Kaua'i is keeping the trade winds down and temperatures up, according to the National Weather Service.

Normal trades are not expected to return until Sunday.

Until then, look for daytime highs in the mid to upper 80s and nighttime lows in the in the lower 70s and an occasional rain shower here and there.

The detailed forecasts are as follows:

  • Today, mostly sunny. Highs 79 to 86. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Tonight, mostly clear. Isolated light showers in the evening. Lows 67 to 75. North winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

  • Tomorrow, mostly sunny in the morning, then partly cloudy with isolated light showers in the afternoon. Highs 80 to 87. North winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

  • Tomorrow night, mostly clear. Lows 66 to 76. North winds around 10 mph.

  • Friday, mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Isolated light showers. Highs 80 to 87. North winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

  • Friday night, mostly clear. Lows 65 to 76. Northeast winds around 10 mph.
