Aloha to give away 1,000 interisland roundtrip tickets

Advertiser Staff

The fare war among interisland carriers has taken another twist, with Aloha Airlines announcing today that it will give away 1,000 free roundtrip tickets between Honolulu and the Neighbor Islands.

Aloha said 500 vouchers for roundtrip tickets will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow at Honolulu's Interisland Terminal. Another 100 vouchers each will be given away at Kahului, Lihue, Kona and Hilo airports beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow. In addition, Aloha will give away 100 tickets to people who enter a random drawing at the airport.

The state Airports Division is advising the public not to line up more than one hour in advance of the start time.

A picture identification must be presented to qualify for a voucher and free ticket. Travelers must be 12 years of age or older. The vouchers can be redeemed for travel between June 24 and Dec. 14. Vouchers must be redeemed by Sept. 30. Two weeks' notice is required to fulfill booking requests.
