Season's first significant brush fire reported

Six engine companies are battling a brush fire this afternoon near Waialua's sugar mill town.The fire, near Kealohanui Street, was reported at 3:17 p.m. and was not threatening any homes, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada said.
Tejada said it is the first brush fire of significance of the summer.
