Advertiser Staff
Kahuku High's Junior Ale, The Advertiser's All-State co-Player of the Year in basketball, has committed to play for Brigham Young University-Hawai'i."(He is) the best player I've seen at Kahuku in the 14 years I've been here," BYUH coach Ken Wagner said in a prepared statement announcing Ale's signing.
The 6-foot-2 guard led the state in scoring, averaging 23.6 points per game.
Ale scored a career-high 38 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out five assists, made two steals and blocked a shot against Campbell in a semifinal of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association playoffs.
Ale plans to play his freshman season and then go on a two-year church mission.
