TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Toy Story 2" (1999), 7 p.m., ABC. Remember when animated films were silly and sequels were lame? This movie broke both traditions. The original "Toy Story" had a great idea — classic toys combining on a mission — and a witty script. This one reunites Woody (Tom Hanks), the cowboy, who is in the hands of an evil toy dealer, and Buzz (Tim Allen), the spaceman, who leads the rescue. There are great moments here, led by the one in which Buzz visits a toy store. For the first time, he grasps his own star status, and Woody realizes toy collectors prize him.

"Lewis Black: Red, White & Screwed," 7 p.m., HBO. Last year, Lewis Black had one of the best standup-comedy specials ever, a wonderful avalanche of dark humor. This one matches it. The language is harsh and the views are angry, but Black is always worth listening to. One moment, he discusses a God who must have taken anger-management classes in between the Old and New Testaments. The next, he attacks George W. Bush or John Kerry or the notion of appointing a horse-show guy to head FEMA. It's done with bitter brilliance.

OF NOTE

"Stanley Cup Finals," 2 p.m., NBC. Here's the third round of the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals, with Carolina at Edmonton. Don't expect a huge audience — especially since most people aren't sure where Edmonton is, where the blue line is, why there's a hockey team in North Carolina or why people keep scurrying around the ice without scoring.

"Hidalgo" (2004), 4 p.m., AMC. This should have been a terrific movie. It has a fascinating, true-life story about an American cowboy who takes his horse to a desert to race against great Arabian steeds. It also has a talented star (Viggo Mortensen) and director (Joe Johnston). The result looks great but adds all kinds of fictional nonsense, including the rescue of a desert princess. It's sort of like when the "Noah's Ark" miniseries added a pirate ship.

"NCIS," 7 p.m., CBS. Danica McKellar, who was Winnie on "The Wonder Years," plays a woman who insists she saw a murder at a neighboring apartment. No one can prove it happened.

"Cold Case," 8 p.m., CBS. Back in 1987, a 6-year-old girl was killed in a park during a drive-by shooting. Lilly suspects someone else was the intended target.

"Grey's Anatomy," 9 p.m., ABC. With basketball taking over on Sunday, this show moves its rerun to tonight. This hour has the women working with a guy who thinks he's pregnant. Also, Derek and Addison go to a therapist to patch up their marriage. And Alex gets romantically bolde, after working with a timid patient.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Jack Black hosts with music from Neil Young.
