Second Saturday arts in Chinatown today

The family-friendly, daytime arts celebration Second Saturday takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at venues downtown and in Chinatown.
Among the attractions:
The Hawai'i State Art Museum offers "Inspiration: Hawaiian Quilts": Learn to create one-of-a-kind quilt squares, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor. Also, take 20-minute tours on the second floor, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's all free.
Culinary tours ($20; call 521-1812) beginning at the Louis Pohl Gallery, which also hosts the exhibit "Art: The Language Everyone Understands," with creations by Mazie Hirono, Frank B. Shaner, Takeo and others.
Sidewalk sales on Nu'uanu Avenue and Bethel Street.
Other participating venues: The Art Board, The ARTS at Marks Garage, The Exhibit Space at 1132 Bishop Street, Kamalino Designs, NextDoor and Ramsay Museum.
