Summer track meets on tap

The Honolulu Marathon Association has joined with the Hawai'i Association of USATF to present the summer Junior Olympic Track and Field series of meets, beginning today at the University of Hawai'i.

The meets are open to all boys and girls from 7 to 17 years of age, and to all older men and women in Open and Masters categories. Participants may enter as a members of one of the 15 youth and adult track clubs around O'ahu, or as unattached. All participants must be members of USA Track & Field.

Meets are scheduled every Saturday through July 29, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The individual championships are set for July 15, with Junior Olympic participants who meet certain qualifying standards eligible to enter the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships July 25 to 30 in Baltimore.

July 15—Individual Championships, 7:30 a.m., University of Hawai'i

July 22—Aloha State Games, 7:30 a.m., University of Hawai'i

July 29—Relay Championships, 7:30 a.m., Punahou School

July 25-30—National Junior Olympic Championships, Baltimore
