Seven injured in one-vehicle accident in Nanakuli

Advertiser Staff

Seven people were taken to The Queen's Medical Center after the sports utility vehicle they were riding in overturned near Kahe Power Plant in Nanakuli at about 2:35 p.m.

The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was in serious condition. A 64-year-old woman, who was in the front seat, was in serious but stable condition, as was a 12-year-old girl, who was in the back seat.

Four other passengers, ranging in age from 1 to 10, had minor injuries.

Bryan Cheplic of the Emergency Services Department said seatbelts may have saved their lives. "Everybody was restrained and that's probably what saved them from being ejected," he said.
