North Shore surf of 4 to 6 feet expected today

Advertiser Staff

There should be plenty of good surf to go around today and throughout most of the week, and even better surf is headed in our direction, according to the National Weather Service.

The out-of-season swell from the north will decrease today, but should still produce sets with wave faces of 4 to 6 feet, forecasters said.

Surf along the south shore will hit heights of 3 to 5 feet; east-facing shores can expect surf of one to 3 feet; and surf along west-facing shores will diminish to 2 to 4 feet.

But the big news is that two moderate swells out of the southwest are due in this week, the first arriving tomorrow and the second early Saturday.

Surf generated by the two swells could build as the weekend approaches hitting the high surf advisory level of 8 feet along the south shore by the weekend.
