New lane on H-1 Freeway delayed

A new fourth lane on the H-1 Freeway heading diamondhead between the Liliha on-ramp and the Pali Highway off-ramp did not open today because work crews need to finish re-striping the lane."We're going to need one more night to finish it up," said Scott Ishikawa, Department of Transportation spokesman. "We don't want to do half of it and leave the other half the way it was. It just takes a while to do sometimes."
The Liliha eastbound ramp and two lanes will probably be closed tonight to finish the job, Ishikawa said.
There was no effect on traffic, officials said.
