High surf advisory posted for all islands
Advertiser Staff
WEATHER ALERT: The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the south-facing shores of all islands.A large swell generated by a storm east of New Zealand has arrived in Hawai'i and will push wave heights from 6 to 10 feet this afternoon, forecasters said.
The high surf and the surf advisory are expected to last through late tomorrow afternoon.
Beachgoers are urged to stay out of the surf zone and away from the shorebreak due to hazardous wave action and strong rip currents.
