Pedestrian struck, killed on Kapi'olani

A 50-year-old Honolulu man was killed this morning after he was hit by a garbage truck on Kapi'olani Boulevard at the intersection of Kaimuki Avenue, according to the city Emergency Services Department.The man was hit at 8:47 a.m. while crossing the street. He died at 9:01. It is not immediately clear whether the man was in a crosswalk.
