Police Beat: Arrests in baseball bat attack incident

Three men told police they were injured early this morning when two other men beat them with baseball bats.

The men said they were standing outside of their apartment building in Honolulu about 1:30 a.m. when the other men attacked them.

Patrol officers were sent to the scene and found two suspects at a nearby apartment building. They were arrested on suspicion of three counts each of second-degree assault.

Two of the three men who reported the incident were treated for their injuries at a hospital and released, while the third refused treatment at the scene.

Man arrested in beating incident

A 40-year-old man was arrested near the Aikahi Shopping Center in Kailua last night after police received a tip that he was beating a 28-year-old woman.

Officers went to the area about 10:50 p.m. and found a woman who was conscious but who had deep cuts on her face. They found a man nearby and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault after the woman identified him as the alleged assailant.

The woman was taken to Castle Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Boyfriend arrested after report of kidnapping, abuse

A 30-year-old Mililani man was arrested this morning after his 24-year-old girlfriend told police he held her against her will and assaulted her yesterday afternoon.

The woman told police were told that her boyfriend held her against her will and physically abused her at his residence. She said she was able to escape the residence, but was caught by the boyfriend who forced her back inside and beat her. The boyfriend later reportedly returned her to the Wahiawa home.

Police said the man was arrested early this morning on suspicion of kidnapping and abuse of a family or household member when he turned himself in at the Wahiawa Police Station.

Police looking for suspect in North Shore beach robbery

Police were looking for a 24-year-old man as a suspect in a robbery that took place yesterday morning on a North Shore beach.

Police were told that a 21-year-old man was sitting with a group of friends at the beach about 11:15 a.m. when the older man approached the group and without saying a word, kicked the younger man in the head and removed a necklace from around his neck and fled. The assault reportedly left the younger man unconscious.

Man, 75, arrested in tie to stolen car

Police arrested a 75-year-old man in Kailua yesterday morning on suspicion of unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle following a traffic accident about 7 a.m.

An officer responding to the accident learned that one of the cars involved had been reported stolen earlier in a complaint filed by a 77-year-old man.
