Best surf will be on east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

East-facing shores on O'ahu should see the best surf of the day, according to the National Weather Service forecast, with wave faces running in the 4-to-6-foot range.

Surf along the southern shores has dropped a bit but still is expected to be 3 to 5 feet today, forecasters say.

Elsewhere, waves should hit 2 to 4 feet along the western shore and 2 feet or less along the northern shoreline.

The good news is another swell will arrive from the southern hemisphere later today. As a result, surf heights are expected to approach the high surf advisory threshold of 8 feet along south-facing shores by early tomorrow morning. This south swell will slowly decline on Sunday.

The bad news is no other significant swells are on the horizon at this time.
