Skin deep? Oh, no, the new traveling exhibit at the Bishop Museum goes much further, into mushy, oozy, stinky and other delights of the human body that most people are shy about discussing.

"Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body" is anything but shy. Based on the series of books by Sylvia Branzei-Velasquez, a former science teacher who lives in Washington state, it includes more than 20 interactive displays and games that should attract kids and adults alike.

"Grossology" made its debut last weekend and continues through Aug. 27 with attractions such as the vomit center and the Gas Attack pinball game.

So how much do you know about your body? Here's a quick quiz.

1. What's the most unsanitary part of the body?

2. True or false: You swallow a pint of snot every day.

3. What's the largest organ?

4. True or false: Your large intestine is 3 feet long.

5. What's cleanest? a) spit b) fresh urine or c) the skin on your face?

Answers:

1. Your mouth. It holds more than 100 million micro-creatures at any given time. Eewww!

2. False. Actually you swallow a quart of snot a day. Double eewww!

3. The skin. You produce a new layer of skin every 28 days, and an average adult's skin weighs about 7 pounds.

4. False. The large intestine is 5 feet long.

5. b) Fresh, healthy urine is the cleanest because it has no bacteria.
