McLachlin in the hunt

Hawai'i's Parker McLachlin fired a 4-under-par 68 yesterday and was in fourth place after three rounds of the $475,000 Knoxville Open, a Nationwide Tour event at Knoxville, Tenn.

McLachlin, a Punahou School and UCLA alum, has a 54-hole total of 11-under 205 at the Fox Den Country Club course.

Former PGA Tour pro Hunter Haas, in search of his second win in three years at Knoxville, fired a 5-under 67 to move to 16-under 200, two shots clear of Brenden Pappas (67). Joel Kribel (66) is at 203, followed by McLachlin.

McLachlin is currently 15th on the Nationwide money list with $93,311 in 11 tournaments.
