12-hour PBS Hawaii blackout planned at midnight

Advertiser staff

PBS Hawaii will suspend transmissions for 12 hours, from midnight until noon tomorrow, to allow for a renovation project at KGMB, where the public television station's main transmitter is housed.

The transmitter shutdown will affect only those who receive the signal via antenna. Cable viewers should not be affected.

Stephen Komori, PBS Hawaii's Vice President of Content Delivery, said, "Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we should return to broadcasting a signal by prime time."
