Slow traffic on Nimitz expected this week

Several road projects around the island will slow commutes through the week. A look at some of the planned construction:

Nimitz Highway work set

There will be lane closures in the Honolulu-bound direction of Nimitz Highway at the Kalihi Street Bridge through Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge repair.

Pali Highway lanes to close

Lane closures will occur along Pali Highway in both directions between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repairs, weather permitting.

Lanes to be closed on Kalaniana'ole Highway

Lane closures will occur in both directions along Kalaniana'ole Highway between Flamingo Street and Waimanalo Elementary School 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for striping work.

'Aiea Access Road lane closed

The right south-bound lane along 'Aiea Access Road from Moanalua Road to Kamehameha Highway will be closed through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for barrier and electrical work.

Shoulder lane closures scheduled

Shoulder lane closures may occur this week on the southeast on-ramp (Honolulu-bound) from Kamehameha Highway to the Moanalua Freeway.

Moanalua Freeway lane to be closed

Closure of a single right lane is scheduled along the Moanalua Freeway (east-bound) between McGrew Point and the loop ramp through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Guardrail work set on Kamehameha Highway

The right lane along Kamehameha Highway in the southbound direction will be closed between McGrew Point and Salt Lake Boulevard through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail work.

Road work near Camp Smith

Lane closures will be implemented along Halawa Heights Road between Ulune Street and Fernridge Place, near Camp Smith, through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement marking and sign installation.

H-1 east-bound Wai'alae off-ramp to close

The H-1 Freeway eastbound Wai'alae off-ramp (Exit 26B) will be closed through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for deck repairs. A special-duty officer will direct traffic.

Windward lanes closing on Kamehameha Highway

Lane closures will occur along Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn through Friday. One lane in either direction will be closed and contra-flowed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Pu'uloa Road lanes to close

Both shoulder lanes along Pu'uloa Road from Kamehameha Highway to Salt Lake Boulevard will be closed through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

Salt Lake Boulevard work scheduled

Lane closures may occur in both directions along Salt Lake Boulevard between Ala Napunani and Pu'uloa Road through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility line installation.

Wilson Tunnel set for pavement work

Likelike Highway's Wilson Tunnel will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction tonight from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for pavement work.
