HFD battling Hawai'i Kai brush fire

Dozens of firefighters tonight are battling a brush fire in Hawai'i Kai.The blaze broke out shortly before 10 p.m. in the Queens Gate area. At about 10:15, fire officials said the blaze was out of control and they were concerned as the flames approached the Hawai'i Kai Golf Course.
Police said the hills above the golf course area are "lit up" and that smoke is filling the area. Kalaniana'ole Highway is closed near Makapu'u because of the fire.
