Saint Louis' Low wins fourth state wrestling title

Advertiser Staff

Saint Louis senior Brandon Low became just the third male in the 40-year history of the state high school wrestling tournament to win four titles Saturday at Blaisdell Arena.

Low, wrestling at 130 pounds, defeated Kahuku's Daniel Morita, 8-4, in the final.

Morita was a two-time state champion who wrestled in different weight classes from Low the previous years.

Low defeated Morita, also 8-4, during their freshman year while wrestling in the 112-pound class.

Low joins Patrick Higa (Iolani, 1983-86) and Jonathan Spiker (Saint Louis, 2000-2003) as the only other wrestlers to win four Hawai'i High School Athletic Association individual title.
