Oh, happy coincidence! In this Year of the Dog, the Hawaiian Kennel Club is celebrating its 100th year. And so there'll be special attractions at this weekend's All-Breed Dog Shows at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

In addition to the usual judging (more than 450 dogs each day), there's a best-bred-by-exhibitor competition today, a best-veteran-in-show competition tomorrow plus vendor booths, prizes and a slide presentation featuring the club's best-in-show winners over the last 100 years.

Hours are from 9:30 a.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. Admission is $5 general, free for kids 12 and younger. Dogs that are not competing will not be admitted. 262-5236.
