UH's Sensley earns All-WAC first team honor

Hawai'i' forward Julian Sensley was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference men's basketball first team and guard Dominic Waters was named the conference freshman of the year by a vote of the coaches, the WAC office announced today.

In addition, junior college transfers Ahmet Gueye and Matt Lojeski were named to the all-newcomer team, and Gueye, who led the conference in blocks, was selected to the all-defensive team.

Joining Sensley on the first team were Paul Millsap of Louisiana Tech, Nick Fazekas of Nevada, Tyrone Nelson of New Mexico State and Nate Harris of Utah State. Fazekas was named the player of the year for the second consecutive season.

Mark Fox of two-time regular season champion Nevada was named the Don Haskins Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.

UH had no second team selections.

Women

Hawai'i had no players to the All-WAC women's first or second team. UH's Brittany Grice, a 6-4 junior center, was named to the All-Defensive team.

Mirenda Swearengin of Fresno State was player of the year and Chris Long of Louisiana Tech was coach of the year.
