Don't be caught floatless come this September's Aloha Festival Floral Parade. On Saturday, Timothy Estes, president of the Fiesta Parade Floats, gives a seminar on float-building, 9 a.m.-noon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the Kalia Tower's Hibiscus Suite. Then you can start selling chili to raise money to buy those 1 zillion carnations you'll need. For more information, call 589-1771.

CHECK KIDS' BODY FAT ONLINE

What does Body Mass Index mean to you? Unless you're a medical professional, probably confusion. The measurement, which takes into account height, weight, gender and age to estimate body fat, is widely used to help identify obesity, particularly in children. The children's health site KidsHealth.org offers an online calculator that gives an accurate BMI number and, most importantly, an explanation of what that number means. Check out the BMI calculator at www.kidshealth.org/parent/food/weight/bmi_charts.html.
