UH softball, state amateur golf washed out

Advertiser Staff

Today's rains on O'ahu have forced changes for two sports events:

Rainbow Wahine softball: Games on the second day of the Hawaiian Airlines Spring Fling Tournament have been rescheduled for tomorrow. Host UH will play UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. and Detroit Mercy at 7 p.m. at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

State Amateur golf: The first round of the Hawai'i State Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Pearl Country Club was cancelled.

The 72-hole tournament has been shortened to 54 holes with the cut coming after tomorrow's first round, weather permitting. The top 40 scores and ties will qualify for the final two rounds Saturday and Sunday.
