FILM, SUPPER AT ART ACADEMY

Don't you wish the Honolulu Academy of Arts Pavilion Cafe was open for dinner? For one night it is the Pacific-Mediterranean eatery is taking reservations for Saturday as part of the academy's occasional Cinema Supper program. Have dinner (service starts at 5:30 p.m.) and watch Michael Winterbottom's hilarious (and R-rated) film-within-a-film "Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story," starring the pithy Steve Coogan of "24 Hour Party People" fame, playing at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Call 532-8734 to reserve a table. Film admission is separate from dinner.

KMS California, a hair-care company that says it celebrates the fusion of cultures, is seeking six "independent-minded and multifaceted individuals" to represent its new product line. You'll need to write a 250- to 1,000- word essay. Eighteen finalists will receive an all-expense-paid trip for two to New York City to compete at a final event on April 25.
