Hawaii beats UCLA in volleyball

The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team won its eighth in a row, a 30-25, 30-19, 28-30, 30-24 victory over UCLA last night in the Stan Sheriff Center.

A crowd of 3,192 saw the Warriors improve to 12-4 overall and 10-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

The Bruins fell to 12-10 and 5-8.

Outside hitters Jose Jose Delgado and Lauri Hakala led Hawaii with 18 kills each. Matt Carere finished with 14.

The Warriors also kept the Bruins out of sync with well-placed serves. The Warriors scored 44 points on their serves compared to the Bruins' 23. Delgado served 18 points, including two aces.
