Clay leads heptathlon at World Indoor Championships

Hawai'i's Bryan Clay won two of four events Saturday to lead the heptathlon competition at the 11th World Indoor Track Championships in Moscow.

Clay, the world decathlon champion, took a 38-point lead over Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic going into Sunday's final three events.

Clay placed first in the 60-meter dash in 6.67 seconds and took the high jump with 2.10 meters. He placed second in the long jump (7.74 meters) and sixth in the shot put (13.89 meters) to amass 3,616 points.

The final three events are the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter run.
