Hawaiî wins first game of baseball doubleheader

Ian Harrington (3-1) allowed a run, six hits and a walk with two strikeouts in a season-high 7 1/3 innings to lead Hawai'i to a 5-1 win over Western Illinois in the first game of a doubleheader at Les Murakami Stadium on Saturday.

Darrell Fisherbaugh pitched a perfect 1 2/3 innings for his fourth save.

John Paul Shore (0-1) kept the Leathernecks in the game by allowing two runs, five hits and two walks with one strikeout in five-plus innings.

Jon Hee's sacrifice fly in the fourth inning scored Luis Avila for Hawaii's first run, and Hee's RBI double in the sixth gave Hawaii a 2-1 lead.

Matt Inouye's RBI double keyed a three-run eighth for Hawaii.
