TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Conviction," 9 p.m., NBC. Here's an instant rerun of Friday's episode, which was ambitious — maybe too ambitious. This is from the "Law & Order" people, who usually stick to one case per hour. Tonight, the young prosecutors handle three. Steele prosecutes a 14-year-old for murder. Peluso ponders an attack on someone who may have been a blackmailer. And Rossi finds she has trouble getting an addicted witness to the trial. Some good moments come early and late in this hour. In between, some portions are fairly flat.

OF NOTE

"Braveheart" (1995), 4 and 8 p.m., Bravo. Mel Gibson beautifully directed and starred in this sweeping saga about William Wallace, who led a Scottish revolt against the English.

"The Year's Most Dangerous Survival Stories," 7 p.m., Discovery Channel. Sandwiched by other survival documentaries, this hour looks at recent cases of survival against steep odds. There is a hiker who accidentally wanders into Hawaiian lava and a skydiver whose parachute doesn't open. And a boat that capsizes among sharks and a Hurricane Katrina story.

"What Lies Beneath" (2000), 7 p.m., ABC. Michelle Pfeiffer seems happy with her marriage to Harrison Ford, as many people might be. Then she suspects that their beautiful, rural home is haunted and that he might be keeping a secret.

"The Unit," 7 p.m., CBS. If you missed Tuesday's debut of this sharp military drama, here's a second chance. Dennis Haysbert (who was President Palmer on "24") leads the field team in an overseas mission and an Idaho rescue. Meanwhile, a new soldier joins the team and his wife learns that she's losing some of her freedom.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Matt Dillon hosts, with music by Arctic Monkeys.
