Alleged threat leads to arrest

A 19-year-old man with no local address was arrested yesterday after he allegedly tried to extort money from a 40-year-old woman who runs a business on Ke'eaumoku Street.

The woman told police she was returning to her business about 11:30 when she saw a man knocking on the door. She said she asked the man what he wanted and that he told her to give him money or she would not be able to do business anymore.

The business owner called police, who arrested the man at the corner of Ke'eaumoku and Young streets on suspicion of second-degree burglary.



Couple finds woman climbing through window

Police arrested a 27-year-old woman with no local address yesterday afternoon after a Waipahu couple reported finding the woman trying to climb into their home through a window.

The women fled from the home before officers arrived, police said, but a woman matching the intruder's description was found about a block away.

The woman became combative while she was being detained for questioning and had to be subdued, police said.

The homeowners identified the woman and she was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree burglary and disorderly conduct as well as a contempt of court warrant.



Teen, 16, arrested for stealing from family

A 16-year-old 'Ewa Beach boy was arrested yesterday on suspicion of second-degree theft after he allegedly stole a home entertainment system valued at more than $1,000 from another family member between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

Police said other family members confronted the boy when he returned home and that he admitted taking the entertainment system.



Man turns himself in for questioning

A 21-year-old Kapolei man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping and abuse of a family or household member in connection with an incident reported Friday by his 20-year-old girlfriend.

The woman told police that her boyfriend held her against her will and pushed her up against a wall during an argument.

The boyfriend turned himself into police yesterday after learning he was wanted for questioning in the case.



Teens say they were robbed at knife-point

Three boys — two of them 14- one 15-years old — told police they were robbed about 9:45 p.m. Saturday in Waikele by three men they did not know.

The boys said one of the men pointed a handgun at them while the two other robbers drew knives and demanded their valuables.

After the boys complied with the demand, the three robbers got into a car and drove off, the victims told police. They said they did not know the men who robbed them.
