Woman cashing forged check arrested

A 45-year-old woman was arrested yesterday in Kalihi after she allegedly tried to cash a $250 check drawn on an account belonging to a 79-year-old man.

The checking account holder told police the check had been stolen from him.

Police arrested the woman about 3:20 p.m. yesterday on suspicion of second-degree forgery.



Man allegedly wields machete at apartment manager

Police arrested a 44-year-old Waipahu man yesterday after an apartment complex manager in Waikele said the man came at him with a machete.

The apartment manager, 48, told police he was doing maintenance work at the apartments on Waikele Road when the younger man approached him with a machete and threatened to cut him up.

Police were called to the apartment building and arrested the younger man on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Police said the two men had a previous encounter when the manager had the younger man removed from the apartment complex because he was allegedly loitering there and attempting to sell drugs.



Nanakuli teen, 18, allegedly threatens teacher

An 18-year-old Nanakuli youth was arrested yesterday after a teacher at Nanakuli Intermediate and High School said he was threatened by the student on Monday.

The teacher, 46, told police that a student threatened to harm him.

Police went to the school yesterday and arrested the student on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
