Think you've got an award-winning healthy dessert recipe?

The Web site www.epicurious.com is holding its Lighten-Up Recipe Contest for original "enlightened" desserts.

The deadline is April 3, with voting from April 24 through May 8.

The winner — who will get a personal chef for a week and whose recipe will be featured in an upcoming Epicurious cooking video — will be announced May 22. Information: www.epicurious.com.

PADOVANI CREATES EXOTIC FLAVORS

Philippe Padovani, one of the original 12 Hawai'i Regional Cuisine chefs, has simplified his life and opened a chocolate boutique on Queen Street. He said he is using premium ingredients, including Kona peaberry coffee and kiawe honey from the Big Island, in creating his chocolates.

Other flavors include Tahitian vanilla caramel, Ka'u orange, vanilla truffle, macadamia nut, mango and ginger.

Padovani's Chocolates, at 151 Queen St. (between Bishop and Alakea streets), is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays; www.padovanichocolates.com, 536-4567.
