BROTHERLY BITS: The Brothers Cazimero were absolutely marvelous in their "Hana Hou!" outing last Friday at the Hawai'i Theatre. Robert and Roland offered exciting songs and dances, including an expansive medley of ocean tunes, and skillfully modified some incongruous, unrelated tunes to weave those in. All were delivered with reverence and relevance. They should mount a sizzling Lei Day concert May 1 at the Waikiki Shell. Expect some expanded replay of choice material. ...

Roland had an accident the day before the concert, suffering residual body aches but no other serious injury. He had been fasting, blacked out, and his car wound up on a median. The trauma wasn't reflected in his performance. ...

Robert did the unexpected — he took off his bandanna, bared his smooth dome and shared a tale about a Propia hair experience in Japan, joking about faux strands affixed to his scalp. How wiggy is that? ...

Wondered why dancer Leina'ala Kalama Heine was absent? She was on tour in Tahiti with Pua Kanaka'ole, but will perform on Lei Day. And since you asked: Tickets — $25 for reserved seats, $15 for general admission lawn seating — go on sale April 8 at the Blaisdell box office and Ticketmaster sites; call (877) 750-4400. ...

NAME-DROPPING: Martin Nievera joins the Society of Seven at 7:30 p.m. April 7 and 2 and 7:30 p.m. April 8 at the Hawai'i Theatre. The Island-raised Philippines superstar is rehearsing material in Las Vegas with his "uncle" Tony Ruivivar. ...

Local boy Anthony Ruivivar, Tony's son, played a detective on CBS' legal drama, "Close to Home" Friday night. Ruivivar, formerly of NBC's "Third Watch," is awaiting word on the fate of a new pilot that would restore his prime-time TV exposure. Stay tuned. ...

Esera Tuaolo, the former NFL footballer (Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, etc.) who came out of the closet, will appear at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand from 7 to 9 p.m. today, a day after the national release of his tell-all tome, "Alone in the Trenches," which details his secret life as a gay man while playing pro football. He'll sign books the first hour, then perform. He recently was profiled in People magazine. ...

WHEE, THE PEOPLE: Singer Melveen Leed is engaged to martial-arts wizard Al Dacascos. She got an engagement ring in a kiss: He had it in his mouth, and transferred it to her during the smooch. "Good thing I didn't swallow it," she joked. The impending marriage (August, perhaps?) means Leed will be stepmother to actor Mark Dacascos, Al's son and "the Chairman" in the Food Network's "Iron Chef America." ...

Jim Wagner, new g.m. at Compadres, saw his first "Cats" at Army Community Theatre's Richardson Theatre last Saturday. When he rushed back to his Mexican restaurant for a cast and crew party, he learned that surfer Bethany Hamilton had dined there. At the party, "kitten" Chandler Cone signed autographs and got a stuffed cat from Channing Weir, a child star herself (Mary Lennox in ACT's "The Secret Garden"). ...

BRIEFLY: Ron Gibson, producer of the April 1 Diamond Head Crater Celebration, took note of the coincidence when he and his sweetie Linda Lou Santos dined at Shanghai Bistro with John and Patty McDermott. A tune by Linda Ronstadt (one of the crater stars) from her Nelson Riddle album was played — and it was serendipitous, not a setup by restaurant owner Li May Tang. ...

"The Mystery of Edwin Drood," premiering March 24 at Diamond Head Theatre, will be guest-directed by Greg Zane. Audiences will see different shows on different nights, because the ending is determined by viewers. Colin Miyamoto, who was in Manoa Valley Theatre's "M. Butterfly," plays the murder suspect Bazzard; he reports there are 175 possible endings, based on the various combinations of characters. ...
