Grammy Award-winning soprano Ren้e Fleming brings drama to Island audiences when she performs with the Honolulu Symphony as part the Halekulani MasterWorks series of classical concerts. FESTIVAL: MARCH 30-APRIL 2

The Honolulu Centennial Family Festival continues the celebration of 100 years of Honolulu Pride with two weekends of rides, games, activities and entertainment. Highlights include the World Famous Nock Thrill Show, featuring Space Wheel performances, motorcycle high-wire acts and acrobatics on 85-foot sway poles; the Purina Incredible Dog Team, left; and an interactive Backyard Circus for youngsters. Admission is free.

Barrington Levy — the dancehall pioneer whose nickname is "Mellow Canary" — and the Detour Posse return for a concert in Honolulu. Levy and the Posse were last here in April 2005. "Hawai'i's Ambassador of Aloha" will be honored when St. Francis Healthcare Foundation and Hawaiian 105 KINE present "An Evening of Aloha: A Tribute to Danny Kaleikini." The star-studded roster of performers includes Gabe Baltazar, Jimmy Borges, Tony Conjugacion, Cathy Foy, Kimo Kahoano, Nalani Olds, Rene Paulo and Kit Samson. Tickets are $25-$75. Proceeds from the event benefit a fundraising campaign to build a third hospice center in east Honolulu. At left is a vintage photo of Kaleikini performing on the nose flute. FILM FESTIVAL: MARCH 31-APRIL 6

The Hawaii International Film Festival's Spring Showcase will screen 26 features from 13 countries, with a heavy contingent from Japan and Australia. The opening night film, "Always Sunset on Third Street," is a blockbuster from Japan; other features include "Linda Linda Linda," also from Japan, and "Friends with Money," starring Jennifer Aniston and Frances McDormand. Calling all car lovers: The 2006 First Hawaiian International Auto Show brings in hundreds of new cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs for a sneak peek. The event also features pre-production models, specialty vehicles and concept cars. Tickets are $7 general, $5 those 62 and older and military, $4 ages 7-12 and free for 6 and younger. April 6 is College Two-fer Night (college students get in two for the price of one) and April 9 is Kids Day (those 12 and younger get in free with a paying adult).
