Feudal feuding in double 'Macbeth'

Two versions of Shakespeare's tragedy "Macbeth" will be screened at the Leeward Community College Theatre today:

  • "Throne of Blood," 1957, directed by the legendary Akira Kurosawa and starring the also-legendary Toshiro Mifune, places the drama in feudal Japan. 10 a.m. today.

  • "Macbeth," from 1948, stars Orson Welles as the Scottish nobleman driven mad by ambition, murder and guilt. Welles also directed. 7 p.m. today.
